The New Orleans Saints are closing in on a deal with Jameis Winston, but that hasn't wavered their confidence in Taysom Hill. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, New Orleans is signing Hill to a two-year deal through the 2021 season.
Saints did sign a QB today: Taysom Hill. Saints are signing Hill to a two-year deal that really is a one-year extension of the first-round, $4.6 million contract tender they gave him in March, per source. But Hill is tied to Saints through 2021 season.

Earlier this offseason, the Saints placed a first-round tender on Hill, which was valued at around $4.6 million next season. But nearly a week ago, it was reported that Hill wasn't in any rush to sign the tender given to him by New Orleans. Now, by waiting, Hill is going to receive $21 million over two seasons, per Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports.
The #Saints 2-year deal with Taysom Hill is for $21 million with $16 million guaranteed. It also includes another $1 million in earnable incentives. Very, very nice numbers to keep Hill in the fold through the 2021 season.

The Saints were excited that Drew Brees decided to return for his 20th season this offseason. At the same time, Sean Payton has exclaimed that he believes Hill can be the team's next franchise quarterback once Brees retires.
Hill, who turns 30 years old in August, has been a do-it-all player for the Saints since joining the team in 2017. Even though he's listed as a quarterback on the depth chart, Hill's spent most of his time running or catching the ball.
Over the past two seasons, Hill has rushed for 352 yards and three touchdowns. As a receiving threat, the BYU product has also hauled in 22 passes for 238 yards and six touchdowns in the last two years.
On the other hand, Hill has attempted just 13 passes in his career, completing six of them. While he's scored nine touchdowns in his career, none of them have come by way of his arm.
Since 2017, Hill has become an internet sensation due to his ability to play multiple positions, despite wearing the No. 7 jersey. Seeing that New Orleans gave him a two-year extension, they have bigger plans for him in the future.
