New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will be having his 42nd birthday on Jan. 15. In celebration of the occasion, his head coach in Sean Payton jokingly said that he will gift Brees ‘a good red zone plan', per Luke Johnson.

The 13-time Pro Bowler already had an advanced birthday gift after their Wild Card matchup against the Chicago Bears last weekend. Brees performed well in the opening round for the Saints as he tallied 265 yards on 28-of-39 passes completed along with two passing touchdowns.

He got help in the returning wide receiver Michael Thomas who notched 73 yards on five catches and a touchdown. Running back Latavius Murray added a receiving touchdown of his own while fellow ball-carrier Alvin Kamara led the ground game with a scoring drive on the endzone.

The Saints pulled away from their opponents in the second half of the game to run away with a 21-9 victory. With the win, New Orleans will be advancing to the divisional round where they will matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It certainly won't be an easy task for the Saints though as Tom Brady and the Bucs have been surging with a three-game winning streak to end the regular season with an 11-5 record. They also defeated the Washington Football Team in the opening round to set up an encounter against their divisional rivals in the next round.

A good red zone plan by Sean Payton will certainly help their cause but the best birthday gift that Drew Brees can give to himself is by leading the Saints with a victory over the Buccaneers on Jan. 17.
