The Seattle Seahawks recently found themselves in some hot water for violating the NFL's concussion protocol. As a result, the Seahawks were handed down a $100,000 fine earlier this week. Since then, Seattle head coach Pete Carroll has been adamant about the team adjusting its own protocol in those situations.

By way of Brady Henderson of ESPN, Carroll feels there may have actually been some good to come out of it:

“We accepted it,” Carroll said. “I think something positive came out of it because there’s been some changes that have been created to help what caused the issue last time. We never had any intention of trying to avoid that at all. It’s just the way that things came down. I see why the league did what they did. The best thing about this is it shouldn’t happen like that again, and we’ve made some changes to help us. So in the long run, it’s a good thing.”

The punishment is stemming from an incident during the Seahawks' matchup versus the San Francisco 49ers in early November. Star quarterback Russell Wilson suffered a vicious hit to the helmet by 49ers linebacker Karlos Dansby, which resulted in him being sent to the sideline. However, his brief time in the blue tent raised questions as to whether or not he had violated the league's concussion protocol in the process.

Needless to say, it has been a tumultuous series of events for Seattle over the final stretch of the 2017 NFL season. Following their Week 15 thrashing at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams, the Seahawks will need to win out if they hope to clinch a Wild Card berth.

For whatever it is worth, Wilson is on the record discussing this entire ordeal, and not exactly agreeing with the NFL. His thoughts on this are relatively wild.
