The Seattle Seahawks' season has been, uh… not great, to say the least. This team was considered to be at the very least a playoff contender. However, untimely injuries to key players and a brutal midseason slump has caused them to be at the bottom of a competitive NFC West division.

Their misfortunes, unfortunately, aren't over yet. In a completely meaningless Week 18 tilt against division rivals Arizona Cardinals, Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs suffered a brutal foot injury. After the game, head coach Pete Carroll and wide receiver Tyler Lockett revealed that they will be staying with Diggs in Arizona to assist him. (via Brady Henderson)

When asked why he's staying, Lockett gave a beautiful answer that will make any Seahawks fan's heart swell with pride. (via Bob Condotta)

“If the shoe was on the other foot, think that would be the same thing he would do for me. That's my best friend, that's my brother, we train together, we went back and forth in college together… Like I said, I'm doing exactly what I think he'd do for.”

Despite this lost season, seeing this team bond together and stay connected despite the turmoil is a nice silver lining for Seahawks fans. Other teams would likely crumble and lose their sense of brotherhood, but Lockett and Diggs have a bond that's unbreakable. The future is exciting for this team.

Of course, the question looming over Seattle's head is regarding Carroll and Russell Wilson. There were a lot of rumors surrounding a potential breakup between the QB-coach duo. Nothing's set in stone yet, though, so Seahawks fans will have to prepare for a bumpy and painful off-season ahead.
