Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was conducting his exit interview on Monday before being interrupted by a random drug test, according to Joe Fann of NBC Sports Northwest.

Fann noted that Wilson thought it was a joke at first before telling the media to give him a second. This comes one day after Wilson and the Seahawks fell to the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, a game in which Wilson completed 21 of his 31 throws for 277 yards and a touchdown.

It was a tough ending to what was an outstanding season for Wilson, who threw for 4,110 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions while completing 66.1 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 106.3 en route to a Pro Bowl selection.

In addition, Wilson punched in three rushing scores.

The 31-year-old was in the MVP conversation all year long, although that seems to be an honor that is likely to be awarded to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Wilson, who played his collegiate football at North Carolina State and the University of Wisconsin, was originally selected by Seattle in the third round (75th pick overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.

He was immediately named the Seahawks' starting quarterback in 2012 and has experienced a significant deal of success since then, earning Pro Bowl honors six times and making back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 2013-14 and 2014-15, winning a championship in the former year.

Wilson also signed a massive contract extension with Seattle last offseason, ending any speculation that he could potentially play elsewhere.
