The Seattle Seahawks have one of the best partnerships in the league today in star quarterback Russell Wilson and wide receiver DK Metcalf. On Sunday, the pair took their relationship to the next level with Metcalf finally deciding to follow back Wilson on Twitter.

As it turns out, it wasn't until recently that Metcalf followed Wilson on social media, and it produced a hilarious exchange between the duo.

Wilson went out of his way to thank Metcalf for finally acknowledging his presence on Twitter:

Metcalf responded to Wilson's tweet with a funny explanation as to why he decided to finally follow his QB back:

There appears to be no off-field tension between the pair, so this is likely just a case of Metcalf not realizing that Wilson wasn't on his following list. Nevertheless, it produced some good comedy for the fans.

The Seahawks are coming off a 28-21 victory against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, and it didn't exactly produce a prime performance from either Wilson or Metcalf.

For his part, Wilson completed an efficient 23-of-28 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding 10 rushes on 42 yards. It wasn't a terrible outing for him by any stretch, but it also wasn't an MVP-caliber performance from a guy who has been playing so well to earn a spot in the Most Valuable Player conversation.

On the other hand, Metcalf himself was relatively contained, catching 3-of-5 targets for a 46-yard gain and a touchdown.

The Seahawks' dynamic duo will hope to get back to top form again in Seattle's next matchup, when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, following their Week 11 bye.
