The Seattle Seahawks have a surprising name on the injury report on Friday. According to Bob Condotta and Joe Fann, Seattle has listed Ziggy Ansah as ‘questionable' for Sunday.

Throughout this offseason, Ansah has been recovering from shoulder surgery that he received from an injury that he suffered with the Detroit Lions in 2018. Apparently, that same shoulder has caused him issues this week in practice.

The veteran defensive end spent his first six seasons in the NFL with the Lions. During his time in Detroit, Ansah tallied 48 sacks, 60 tackles for loss, and 10 forced fumbles.

Earlier in his career, Ziggy Ansah sustained a shoulder injury in 2013 but continued to play through the injury. Following that season, the talented pass rusher underwent shoulder surgery and would return to start in all 16 games in 2016.

However, the defensive end had shoulder issues in 2018 and missed nine games. Due to the injury, the Lions decided to move on from Ansah; effectively making him a free agent.

After months of no teams showing interest, the Seahawks signed Ansah to a one-year deal worth up to $9 million. Over the course of the offseason programs, the 30-year-old edge defender has been nursing his shoulder once again in his career.

When the Seahawks began training camp, Ziggy Ansah seemed to be putting his shoulder problems behind him and was ready to return to his dominant form. By being ‘questionable' against the Cincinnati Bengals, there may have been a setback in his shoulder recovery.

Along with Ziggy Ansah, the Seahawks recently acquired Jadeveon Clowney from the Houston Texans. Pete Carroll may have to wait another week to see his new pass-rushing duo take the field together; if Ansah misses Week 1.
