Throughout the first few weeks of the offseason, the Seattle Seahawks have moved on from a few of their cornerstone defensive players. This has led to All-Pro safety Earl Thomas' name being continually tossed around in trade rumors. The Seahawks have bounced back and forth in their game plan with their star defensive back's long-term future with the franchise.

According to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, general manager Jon Schneider has acknowledged that the team is once again listening to trade offers.

Prior to Schneider's comments, it came out that they were reportedly looking to acquire a first and third round pick in exchange for Thomas. It is likely that Seahawks stick to a high asking price in order to find a potential replacement through the draft coming up next month.

Thomas is in the final year of his four-year, $40 million deal that will pay him $10.4 million in both salary and bonuses for the 2018 campaign. He is coming off yet another highly productive year where he finished with 88 total tackles and a pair of interceptions in 14 games played despite dealing with injuries.

The 28-year-old is still one of the game's best players at his position. He has been a big part of the Seahawks' “Legion of Boom” but it appears he could be the final member of that group, as Richard Sherman is now a member of San Francisco 49ers and Pro Bowl safety Kam Chancellor might have to retire due to a neck injury.

Through his first eight seasons, Thomas has six Pro Bowl selections, three First-Team All-Pro nods, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections.

It has been an interesting process for Thomas to say the least, with the team flipflopping back and forth between their outlook on whether to keep him aboard or look to trade him. He recently voiced via social media that he hopes to spend his entire career in Seattle.

This is clearly a fluid situation with Thomas' long-term future up in the air at this point in the offseason.
