Many UFC fighters have been trying to cross over into boxing in order to earn a big payday. Sean O'Malley has expressed interest recently in boxing Gervonta Davis. Francis Ngannou is the most famous one so far as he wants to take on Tyson Fury.
Francis Ngannou seems to have a small window of opportunity to head into boxing. His UFC contract is about to run out and he has been expressing interest in boxing or at least including it as part of his UFC career.
Sean O'Malley spoke about the potential fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou on his podcast. The UFC bantamweight isn't so sure about Ngannou's chances should he box with the English heavyweight champion.
“Ngannou vs. Fury potential boxing fight. If I’m being real, I’ve seen Ngannou throw [punches] like he doesn’t have a lot of boxing skills. If you see how he throws some of his punches, it’s not like a good one too. It’s not even close [to Fury’s level]. With that being said, he could still catch him. He’s got that much fucking power. Ngannou’s probably got more power than Wilder I’d say… So if they’re in a boxing ring, Francis is so big and terrifying but Tyson Fury would probably piece him up,” he said.
It would be interesting as many favor Tyson Fury as the better boxer but admit the UFC champion has ungodly power. A fight between the two could be fun or it could end in a disaster depending on what happens next with Ngannou's UFC contract.
