The Seattle Seahawks are going to be with Rashaad Penny against the New Orleans Saints for the first time since the season-opening week.

Penny has been unavailable, either due to being inactive or on the injured reserve list since the opener due to a calf strain. Over the past two years, Penny has gone through a few different injuries–including two operations on his knee.

Rashaad Penny was the Seahawks' first-round pick of the 2018 draft.

Seattle got Penny back at the perfect time. Their other running backs, Chris Carson and Alex Collins, are both injured. Carson is on the injury reserve list with a neck injury, while Collins is listed as questionable for the Seahawks with a groin injury.

“He's really mentally right and really excited about it. He's like a little kid wanting to play football. But most of all, he wants to help his team. He really does. He feels that sense of responsibility and he wants to help us. So he'll get his chance; we're excited about him playing,” Pete Carroll said of Penny, per John Boyle of Seahawks.com.

The Seahawks will look to improve to 3-4 on the season as they host the Saints on Monday Night Football. New Orleans will look to improve to 4-2 on the year.

Penny being back is a big help for this Seahawks team. They have struggled at points throughout the year, but having him back will bring a spark to their offense. With Russell Wilson being out, the Seahawks can use all the help they can get.
