The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a one-year with free agent big man Amir Johnson, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Wednesday afternoon.

The 13-year NBA power forward/center Johnson played just 15.8 minutes per game for the Sixers, averaging 4.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game on 53.8 percent shooting. The Sixers have already lost shooting guard Marco Belinelli, a terrific mid-season addition for Philadelphia, as well as power forward Ersan Ilyasova.

Earlier this free agency period, Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer reported that Johnson drew interest from the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, as well as the New York Knicks. Johnson ultimately agreed to remain in Philadelphia to continue building on what he and the Sixers did this past season.

At this point in his career, Johnson isn't anything more than a backup big man and more of a mentor for younger players. That's why his addition to the Sixers will continue to be valuable to their young guys even though his numbers may not be anything more than a couple points and rebound a night.
