Philadelphia 76ers wunderkid Ben Simmons took the world by storm in his rookie year. The Sixers point forward took home the Rookie of the Year award and he's poised to build on that success in his second year on an NBA court (third in the league).

Simmons knows he belongs among the best in the NBA, but he already realized at a young age that he could take on his father in basketball — a former professional player in Australia.

“I'm a competitive person so I've always believed that. But knowing when it would actually happen… When I was like 16. I was coming back from America and played him one on one, and he kind of realized he's getting older and it's time to hang it up.”

It's safe to say Simmons could dominate his dad right now on the court. The confident Sixer is much better than most of us who ever picked up a ball, but this is something many people can relate to. The first time someone beats their dad in any event, let alone basketball, is always memorable.

In fact, Simmons showed an aptitude for basketball at an even younger age than 16. He said that he learned how to dribble before he could even walk. Simmons also told James Corden:

“I used to shoot my pacifier in the sink.”

How close in were you to the sink? Couldn't have been anything past a few feet out or else that pacifier would end up as a brick.
