Before the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers faced off in their round two series, there weren't many people who believed that the Celtics would come out of it victorious.

The Sixers had Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and were shooting the three ball really well, while the Celtics were dealing with all kinds of injuries.

Everyone knows how that played out though, and the Celtics were the team to come out of the series and get a date with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sixers general manager Jerry Colangelo believes the loss is just what the team needs going forward, and is a good wakeup call.

“We were feeling pretty good about ourselves 10 or 11 days ago, Colangelo said via Derek Bodner of The Athletic. This series against Boston was a little bit of a wake-up call…We all have to learn from that.”

The Celtics made a lot of plays to win the series, but there were a lot of things the 76ers did wrong, especially down the stretch of games that ended up costing them the games.

There was Simmons missing the bunny when he could have held on to the ball, and made sure he at least got two free throws from the line.

The good news for the 76ers is they can only go up from here. They still have the good young core, and they have cap room this summer to try and get another superstar to pair with Simmons and Embiid. They also should be getting a healthy Markelle Fultz back next year, something that wasn't the case this year.
