Philadelphia 76ers general manager Elton Brand is confident about Sixers star Ben Simmons' improved jump shot.

Simmons worked hard all summer on his perimeter game and has been hitting 3’s in practice.

“He’s worked hard at it. And we support Ben, we believe in Ben,” Brand said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia. “We want him to shoot and he’s going to shoot. And he’s going to shoot the right shots — that’s what’s important to me. Just developing, it’s a team effort. So if he’s open from a corner three, I expect him to let it fly, and from what I’ve seen, I expect it to go in. Not to put pressure on him, but he’s worked, and he’s built for that. He’s worked his butt off all summer long.”

For the Sixers to win the title this season, Ben Simmons will have to have some resemblance of a perimeter game. Simmons has yet to hit a 3-pointer in the NBA.

Simmons signed a five-year, $170 million maximum rookie contract extension with the Sixers this summer. Last season, Simmons averaged 16.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists while shooting 56.3 percent from the field. He recorded 42 double-doubles and 10 triple-doubles.

Philly will go as far as Simmons and center Joel Embiid take them. The two youngsters have all the individual tools and skills to lead the Sixers to a championship. It’s all about getting the team together and playing high-level offense and defense for 48 minutes.
