James Harden has been balling out since joining the Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline. On Wednesday, in his first game in Philly, the new Sixers star matched an NBA record that hasn't been seen in more than a decade.

Harden dropped 26 points on Wednesday as he helped the Sixers defeat the New York Knicks, 123-108. After another strong performance, the former league MVP just matched the great Allen Iverson for a long-standing, 16-year-old record (h/t ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter):

It's only fitting that Harden tied an Allen Iverson record in his third game for the Sixers. AI set the record in 2006 as a member of the Denver Nuggets, but there's no denying that he's a legend in Philadelphia.

Incidentally, Iverson was hyping Harden's debut in Philadelphia prior to Wednesday's win. True enough, James responded with another noteworthy performance for his new team.

The Sixers are now 3-0 since Harden's arrival and right now, they're looking like a really dangerous squad. Philly's hot streak will now be put to the test as they face off against two of the top teams in the East. Harden and Co. battle it out against the top-seeded Miami Heat on Friday followed by a matchup against the Cavs on Saturday.
