JJ Redick is without question and important piece for the Philadelphia 76ers, but he is about to hit the open free agency market. Last offseason, Redick tested free agency and ended up re-signing with the franchise. This year, the result may end up being a little different.

According to a report from Michael K-B of 247 Sports, Redick is drawing “plenty of interest” ahead of free agency and may not end up re-signing with the 76ers when everything is said and done.

Philadelphia would love to re-sign Redick, but they are going to have a difficult time doing so. They are also going to have to figure out the futures of Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris. Redick is going to command a decent contract as well and the 76ers simply do not have a ton of money to work with.

During the 2018-19 NBA season with Philadelphia, Redick ended up averaging 18.1 points per game to go along with 2.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds. He shot 44 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 39.7 percent of his three-point attempts. Those numbers show why so many teams are interested in him.

Redick is exactly the kind of shooter that NBA championship contenders need to have. The 76ers made a run this season, but came up short against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding Redick this offseason. It remains to be seen what teams are interested in signing him, but there are going to be quite a few offers on the table.
