Former Philadelphia 76ers sharpshooter JJ Redick spoke highly of his ex-teammates and former coach Brett Brown, noting he watched Thursday night's game between the Sixers and the Boston Celtics, pulling for his former team to win.

“It’s weird to say this but I’m enjoying their success, I really am,” said Redick, according to Rich Hoffmann of The Athletic. “I will always pull for any Brett Brown coached team and obviously love Ben, Joel and Tobias and all those guys that I played with the last two years.”

Redick had two balloon one-year deals with the 76ers, but opted for more long-term security by signing with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Sixers found a quick replacement in Josh Richardson, who they acquired in the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat.

It became clear that Redick wasn't high in the priority list when the Sixers had the monster of Butler and Tobias Harris' impending five-year deals to handle, with the latter getting a $180 million contract in the summer.

The Sixers no longer have that elite-caliber marksman to snipe away from deep, but they have retooled their roster well with some key additions, poised to make another deep playoff run if they can keep winning like they have through the first quarter of the season.

Philly is now 19-7 and leapt over the Boston Celtics for third place in the East while Redick's struggling Pelicans have only six wins on the season while the 35-year-old enjoys a beefy two-year, $26.5 million deal.
