The stench of the zero-point game on Joel Embiid isn't going to be washed off any time soon. However, the Philadelphia 76ers star has since bounced back with a solid outing at the Sacramento Kings' expense. The Sixers big man led all players in scoring with 33 points. He also grabbed 16 rebounds, made an assist, and blocked two shots in only 32 minutes of play.

It's easy to think that he had a monstrous performance against the Kings try and erase the scoreless display he showcased against the Toronto Raptors. However, the Cameroonian star vehemently denied the allegations. He said that proving his doubters wrong is the last thing on his mind.

Per Sixers Wire's Ky Carlin, Embiid had this to say about his performance:

“I didn’t have to prove anything. I’ve matured a lot since I’ve got in the league. I understand the end goal is winning a championship so we’ve got to take it day-by-day. People are going to talk and I’ve learned not to pay attention to it. It doesn’t get to me. I just do it for myself, I just do it for the organization, and I just do it for my family. I don’t have anything to prove to anybody, I literally do not care about whatever was said after that performance so, like I said I don’t have anything to prove to anybody.”

Embiid is averaging solid numbers so far, with nightly averages of 21.9 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists on 46% shooting. The season is still long, and it'll be a matter of time until the rest of the NBA forgot his shambolic performance against the Raptors. Until then, all Embiid can do is keep his head down and continue to dominate the hardwood.
