The Philadelphia 76ers are listing star big man Joel Embiid as doubtful to play in Game 1 of their firs-round playoff match-up against the Brooklyn Nets.

Embiid has left knee soreness. The Sixers superstar missed 13 of the team's final 23 games of the regular season with the ailment.

Joel Embiid played in 64 games this season for the Sixers. The two-time All-Star averaged 27.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest while shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 30.0 percent from beyond the arc and 80.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Embiid recorded 58 double-doubles and two triple-doubles. The Sixers were 43-21 when Embiid was in the lineup.

This isn't good news if you are a Philly fan. Embiid has an extensive injury history, so it's obvious the team is being cautious with him. Embiid told reporters on Friday it will be his decision if he plays in Game 1.

Luckily for Philadelphia, they have two other All-Stars on the team in point-forward Ben Simmons and small forward Jimmy Butler. Swingman Tobias Harris and shooting guard J.J. Redick are high-level players as well, so the Sixers should still be able to win Game 1 over the Nets if Embiid can't play. However, this is still a story to pay attention to moving forward.
