The Philadelphia 76ers dug themselves quite a hole, starting the Eastern Conference Semifinals down 0-2 against the Miami Heat. They came back and tied the series with two home wins. The back-to-back wins and the reinstallation of Joel Embiid brought life back into the Philadelphia team. However, it was quickly taken away with a brutal 35-point loss in Game 5.

Now, the Sixers are in a must-win situation heading into Game 6. Embiid addressed the high-stakes matchup taking place Thursday night in Philadelphia.

NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark tweeted Embiid's mindset heading into Game 7 Thursday afternoon.

These are some pretty bold statements, especially after the Sixers' disappointing outing just two nights prior. However, if anyone can come back from a loss like that, it's an Embiid-led Sixers team. Embiid has the right mindset heading into Game 6, and he isn't giving up yet. In other words, if you prematurely counted the Sixers out, you're being strongly advised to reconsider.

It shouldn't be much of a surprise that Embiid is still steadfast in coming back in this series. He's playing with a right orbital fracture, face mask, recent mild concussion, and torn thumb ligament. At this point, it doesn't seem like anything can stop him from working his way to the championship.

Will Embiid and the Sixers be able to force Game 7 with a win Thursday night? Or, will Philadelphia fans be asked to “trust the process” for at least another year?
