With the NBA's trade deadline just 24 hours away, the Philadelphia 76ers have made a deal to acquire Malachi Richardson and a 2022 second-round pick from the Toronto Raptors, the Sixers announced Wednesday.
Pompey also reports that the Sixers, who are sending cash considerations to the Raptors as part of this deal, will also receive the draft rights to Emir Preldzic, who's currently playing for Bahçeşehir of the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL):

Richardson, now 23 years of age, was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the 22nd overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. The New Jersey native was traded to the Raptors on Feb. 8, 2018, in exchange for Bruno Caboclo. Since then, he has served several stints with Toronto's G League affiliate, the Raptors 905.
Toronto will save luxury tax money with this trade.
As of right now, it's hard to say if Richardson will be able to find a substantial role with the Sixers, who recently acquired Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic and Mike Scott from the Los Angeles Clippers.
According to Pompey, Richardson will wear No. 22 for the Sixers:

The Sixers will be back in action on Friday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Denver Nuggets. Tip-off inside the Wells Fargo Center is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
