The tragic school shooting at Uvalde, Texas has sparked massive debates regarding gun control. There were plenty of calls for reform and action. The sports world was also heavily involved in the discussion, with names such as Warriors coach Steve Kerr, Lakers star LeBron James, and former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski called out the people in charge. Now, a Texas legend in San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has also spoken out.

Gregg Popovich, who has long been outspoken on political topics, was a speaker during a rally in Texas. There, the Spurs coach went on an impassioned rant calling out the state's politicians. Popovich urged these politicians to take action, with him rhetorically asking what would it take for them to do something.  (via Voto Latino)

Many fans will recall Steve Kerr's emotional rage-filled rant after news of the shooting broke out. Kerr and his former Spurs mentor Popovich have been one of the biggest political voices in the NBA. It's no surprise that Pop took the time to attend this event and speak out, considering his past stances on gun reform and control.

Popovich has been part of the Spurs organization for almost three decades by now. The coach is one of the most respected people in the community. Hearing him speak out on the matter is a great way of leveraging his platform to try and enact positive change in the country.

Aside from Popovich, another legendary head coach spoke out about the matter. Coach K, the fabled captain of Duke's basketball program, also lashed out against the politicians regarding the Uvalde shooting.
