The San Antonio Spurs have already been missing Kawhi Leonard for the season, and one player they simply cannot afford to be without is LaMarcus Aldridge. Unfortunately, Aldridge appeared to suffer a minor knee injury against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night and did not return to what was eventually a Spurs loss.

According to Nick Talbot of MySanAntonio.com, Wednesday afternoon's MRI results on Aldridge's injured left knee came back negative and he'll be day-to-day moving forward.

When speaking to reporters about the potential for Aldridge to miss time with just over two weeks left in the regular season and the playoff race tightening up, Spurs veteran guard Manu Ginobili said San Antonio can't be without Aldridge.

“Considering the way he's been playing and our recent success in those games, we are at the point where if LaMarcus gets a cough, a cold, we are in deep trouble,” Ginobili said. “Hopefully, it's not serious because it's going to be really tough to score without him and we have tough games against teams that n
eed to win. We really need him.”

In their final seven games of the season, the Spurs will have to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder, LA Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers, and the New Orleans Pelicans. All four are teams within a game or two of the Spurs, and a win or loss could seriously make the difference between getting into the postseason or missing out.

In 68 games for the Spurs this season, Aldridge has averaged 23.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game on 50.9 percent shooting from the field and 30.2 percent from beyond the arc.
