A right shoulder strain will keep San Antonio Spurs big man LaMarcus Aldridge out of Saturday's game against the Orlando Magic.

It will be the second straight game Aldridge will miss for the Spurs:

Aldridge has appeared in 52 games this season. He's averaging 18.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 49.5 percent from the field, 39.2 percent from beyond the arc and 82.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Spurs are 24-33 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Western Conference standings and have a lot of work to do if they want to make the playoffs for the 23rd consecutive season under head coach Gregg Popovich.

It would be so strange not to see the Spurs in the postseason. DeMar DeRozan and Aldridge are two sound All-Star players, but not even their scoring prowess has been able to lift San Antonio into the playoff picture.

Right now, the Spurs are 3.5 games back of the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. San Antonio decided not to trade DeRozan and Aldridge at the trade deadline, so they must have thought they could make a late season playoff push.
