During the first half of the San Antonio Spurs' game against the Utah Jazz on Friday night, Spurs All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge was simply a man on a mission.

On an impressive 12-of-16 shooting from the floor in the game's first two quarters, Aldridge exploded for 28 points in the first half to help the Spurs to a thrilling 124-120 overtime victory over the Jazz at AT&T Center.

This was the highest scoring outburst in one half for Aldridge in his San Antonio career, as the Spurs official Twitter account was kind enough to post highlights from his memorable half.

The six-time NBA All-Star finished with a career-high 45 points on 19-of-28 shooting, nine rebounds, three blocked shots, and two assists during Friday night's contest that had a lot of playoff implications on the line.

With 55.5 seconds remaining in regulation and the game tied at 106, Aldridge sank the go-ahead basket and helped the Spurs eventually record their sixth victory in a row when they held off the Jazz in overtime.

Aldridge was able to out-duel Utah rookie Donovan Mitchell, who sent the game to overtime when he drained an extremely difficult 3-pointer with just 3.6 seconds left in the fourth quarter. The rookie out of Louisville finished with 35 points on 14-of-35 shooting, but Utah's 12-game road winning streak was snapped by the Spurs.

San Antonio has finally shaken out of their bad funk after being booted out of the Western Conference's top eight some time ago.

Up next, the Spurs (43-30) will look for win No. 7 in a row on Sunday afternoon when they travel to take on the Milwaukee Bucks (38-34) at BMO Harris Bradley Center.
