On Monday, the San Antonio Spurs will be hosting the Charlotte Hornets in a game that is expected to be a highly emotional affair. Tony Parker will make his first trip back to San Antonio after leaving in free agency. As such, Patty Mills foresees plenty of love being showered on the Frenchman, per Tom Osborne of the San Antonio Express-News.

“I think he is going to get a very, very warm welcome. The city loves him. They always have, and vice versa. Looking forward to a pretty cool reception from the fans.”

Mills served as a backup to Parker for several years where they enjoyed plenty of success, even resulting to an NBA championship in 2014.

In spite of Tony Parker's decision to open a new chapter with the Hornets back in the offseason, there's no denying the legacy that he has built with the Spurs franchise. In 17 years with the team, Parker became a six-time All-Star, a four-time champion, and a Finals Most Valuable Player, to name a few of his accolades.

Without Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Tim Duncan — even factoring Kawhi Leonard's departure — San Antonio started the season shaky but have picked things up, winning six of their last eight games to put them just one-and-a-half game from the Western Conference's fourth spot.

In 37 games for the Hornets — all coming off the bench — Tony Parker has averages of 9.4 points and 3.8 assists.
