San Antonio Spurs center Pau Gasol has seen many of his veteran teammates go, the likes of Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Kawhi Leonard are no longer in the roster, but that has yet to keep him from mulling a potential retirement.

“I'm not thinking about retirement at the moment,” Gasol said during the presentation of his book Bajo El Aro [Below The Rim] in Madrid, according to AFP. “Thought I know it'll come at some point and time, my plan and focus is to enjoy this season to the max.”

“I want to keep giving it my all, making a difference and loving what I do.”

The 38-year-old Gasol did recognize that “as the years pass, it becomes more difficult to think about retiring from [the Spanish National Team].”

While the 7-footer has yet to think about the day when he leaves the hardwood for good, “my idea is to keep myself linked to the sport. It is what I know and what I'm good at,” noting it'll be “more likely I take the front office side than one in the bench [as Gregg Popovich's assistant].”

The Spaniard has played 17 seasons in the NBA since becoming the No. 3 pick in the 2001 NBA Draft and long stretches with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Lakers for the first 13 years of his career.

Gasol averaged 10.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, and a block in 2017-18, playing the fewest minutes of his career (23.5) while making 63 starts in 77 appearances last season.
