Already missing the services of Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker, the San Antonio Spurs suffered another blow to their lineup as their rookie, Derrick White, fractured his wrist. He is now reportedly out indefinitely, with a timeline for his return to be determined soon.

The 23-year-old Colorado product was the 29th pick of last June’s draft, and was quickly sent by the Spurs to their G-League affiliate, the Austin Spurs. He has since played for them except for four games, when he suited up for San Antonio. White got hurt during Austin’s game on Monday versus the Texas Legends, and left the game early.

This is definitely a setback to the start of his professional career. If there’s any silver lining after fracturing his wrist though, he is still young and has a chance to return stronger than ever. Once he comes back, he should continue gaining more experience with Austin, which will help him to become a fixture in San Antonio’s roster in the future.
