San Antonio Spurs small forward Rudy Gay has been dealing with a nagging wrist injury, and the ailment is likely going to sideline the swingman for the next two games.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich told local reporters on Monday that Rudy Gay is out for Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Popovich added that Gay is probably out for Thursday's contest versus the Oklahoma City Thunder as well.

Rudy Gay didn't play on Monday against the Detroit Pistons. The Spurs were still able to come away with the victory, as San Antonio defeated Detroit by a final score of 119-107 to improve to 24-17 on the season and 7-12 on the road.

In 35 games this year, Gay is averaging 13.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. The 32-year-old veteran is shooting 51.1 percent from the field, 41.2 percent from beyond the arc and 84.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Gay is the third-leading scorer on the Spurs, trailing only shooting guard DeMar DeRozan and power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. Popovich says Gay's wrist is just not right at the moment and that the team wants him to be 100 percent for the long haul.

San Antonio entered Monday in the sixth spot in the Western Conference standings. After getting off to a slow start, the Spurs looks like the Spurs again.
