The San Antonio Spurs' loss to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday marks their seventh straight defeat. This is also Greg Popovich's worst losing streak in 23 seasons.

The Spurs now have a 5-10 record for 14th in the Western Conference. While it's still early in the 2019-20 season, analysts are leaning on the possibility that San Antonio will miss the playoffs.

If this comes true, it will also mark the first time that the team will miss the playoffs in 22 years.

Popovich is regarded as one of the greatest coaches of all time. As such, he has the capacity to turn things around. However, seeing him and the Spurs struggle is just a new sight for NBA fans.

After all, the organization managed to sneak into the playoffs even when the legendary trio of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Paker were at the tail end of their careers. Somehow and someway, the Spurs have been able to squeeze out a star-caliber performance from their other players.

But so far, the Spurs have failed to do just that. They still have a veteran core comprised of DeMar DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge and Patty Mills, as well as other young guns who possess infinite potential. But for some reason, things aren't working out as it's supposed to be.
