Ben Roethlisberger has been a workhorse throughout the course of his 17-year career, all of which spent with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Big Ben” ranks 17th among all active players in games, and third in both comeback victories and game-winning drives. The two=time Super Bowl champion might well be bound for Canton someday.

But Ben Roethlisberger still has more football in him and, after missing all but two games in 2019, is more motivated to win.

The 38-year-old said after Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles he is missing too many deep balls. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin thinks the self-criticism stems from a changed perspective after Roethlisberger missed all but two games in 2019:

“I think sometimes when you have the perspective that he has now, he watched the bulk of football in '19,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN. “Often when you get removed from your role and you watch from a dif perspective, it changes your perspective on your performance.”

While Roethlisberger might feel he is overthrowing the deep ball, he has been pretty measured in leading the Steelers to a 4-0 start.

Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns against just one interceptions through the first four games. He is completing close to 70 percent of all pass attempts, averaging 7.1 yards gained per pass attempt.

Although ESPN's total QBR ranks Roethlisberger 20th among quarterbacks,  he ranks towards the top of the NFL in expected completion percentage, per NFL Next Gen Stats.

“Big Ben” has more weapons this year, with rookie wideout Chase Claypool in particular making a statement with a four-touchdown game on Sunday.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers will look to keep the momentum going as they face a tough test against an AFC North foe in the Cleveland Browns this weekend.
