Nearly two weeks after he made the decision, it still seems surreal that Tom Brady won't be playing for the New England Patriots in 2020. As the offseason continues to progress, Stephon Gilmore shared his reaction to Brady leaving New England for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

“Not surprised,” he said via ESPN's Mike Reiss. “A player like him, playing somewhere that long, you never can see it, but it shows you that in the National Football League it can be anyone going somewhere. It's a business, and that's how you have to look at it.”

For the past 20 seasons, Brady has been the benchmark for success, leading the Patriots to six Super Bowl victories. However, in a sport that is constantly evolving, it's even tough for players like Brady to play their entire career with one team.

As for Gilmore, he's seen firsthand the difference that Brady makes on the entire team when he is manning the offense. But as Gilmore enters his fourth season in New England, there will be a new quarterback under center for the Patriots.

In a sport where there are multiple factors that go into making a decision in free agency, players realize the NFL is ultimately a business. While players want to win Super Bowls, they also want to make sure they are getting the most money they can before they retire.

On the other hand, it's business as usual for Gilmore and the Patriots this offseason.
