Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams is a New Zealand native and is only the fourth player in his country's history to play in the NBA,

The 7-foot big man was recently asked if he thinks basketball can be as popular in his home country like how it is now in Australia. Adams gave a very witty answer and at the same time made it public that he still knows where the true rivalry lies.

The Australian team, also known as The Boomers, have made huge strides and are now considered a rising power in basketball. During the Rio Olympics in July, they gave Team USA a run for their money and not only competed against them but tried to win the game. Although they lost in the end, they were able to make a good account of themselves and finished in fourth-place after a one-point loss to Spain.

Even if Adams does not admit it, he definitely wishes for the sport to grow even more in New Zealand in order to produce more players like him who can bring their talents to the NBA.
