Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker is set to return in Thursday's Game 6 against the Pelicans, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Booker's missed three games due to a strained hamstring. The Suns lead the Pelicans 3-2 in the series ahead of Thursday night's Game 6. With a win, the Suns will advance to the Western Conference semifinals to face the winner of the Jazz-Mavericks series.

The news comes after it was initially reported that Booker would remain out for Game 6. It does come as a bit of a surprise, as the Suns arguably could finish the series without him. In a follow-up tweet, Wojnarowski stated Booker has officially been upgraded from “out” to “questionable” by the team.

Regardless, it's unlikely Booker plays his usual amount of minutes Thursday night. He averaged 34.5 minutes per game in the regular season, second on the Suns behind Mikal Bridges. Booker will likely be on a minutes restriction. Landry Shamet has been a direct beneficiary of Booker's absence, averaging just over 24 minutes in the three full games.

Booker's injury came over a week ago now in Game 2 of the series. He played just 24 minutes in that Game 2, scoring 31 points. All of those points came in a scorching-hot first half. In Game 1, Booker scored 25 points in 40 minutes. His absence has been felt, as the Pelicans have been able to steal two games from the Suns in the series.

Thursday's Game 6 is a crucial one for the Suns on multiple levels. They obviously want to avoid a Game 7 situation, and it would also allow Booker to heal his hamstring a few extra days.
