Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker is one of the fiercest competitors in the league. Being a huge fan of the NBA legend Kobe Bryant, Booker has embraced his own killer instinct, regardless of the situation.

Coming off a three-game layoff due to a hamstring injury, Booker suited up in Game 6 of their first round series against the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA Playoffs. He, however, played terribly in the first half, scoring just two points, as the Suns faced a 10-point deficit at halftime. Suns coach Monty Williams decided to sit Booker to start the third quarter. Of course, that didn't sit well with the high-scoring guard.

Williams recalled the tension-filled moment in a story by The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears.

“I thought we were going to have a fistfight over there with the look he gave me. We had already talked about it, but we had to stick with the plan because it was going to be easier to finish with him.”

Booker didn't sit long. He was reinserted into the game to help the Suns finish off the Pelicans and move to the next round. He didn't disappoint. While he played below par, he hit the dagger three-pointer and seal the series-clinching victory. Williams could only marvel at his prized player.

“We don’t win without him. He hit a big shot down the stretch with the pull-up on the left side, with a 3 in the corner. The one time he posted up (Pelicans guard Jose) Alvarado, he got to his shot. It was textbook Book.”

The Suns are in good hands. As long as those hands don't engage in a fistfight.
