Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has no plans to relax, especially now that the upcoming NBA season is just two months away. The five-year vet continues to work on his game, hitting the gym and participating in pickup games.

He's hellbent on making the playoffs, which he clearly expressed during a game against Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons.

Booker, the 13th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, has emerged as one of the best guards in the league. However, while he's been excellent for the Suns, he hasn't been able to will them into the playoffs.

The 22-year-old star isn't the one to blame though. The Suns have been trying to rebuild over the past couple of years, but aside from Booker and last year's first overall pick DeAndre Ayton, they haven't been lucky to land great players through the draft.

In 2016, Phoenix used the fourth overall pick to select Dragan Bender. Then, the following year, they drafted Josh Jackson with the fourth pick as well. Both players are no longer with the team.

Phoenix hasn't been able to assemble a competitive team around Booker either, and that continues to be the case heading into next season.

The Suns were able to get Cam Johnson and Ty Jerome in the 2019 draft, but it remains to be seen if they can develop into game-changing stars in the near future.

Booker is obviously determined to get the Suns out of their slump, and the desire to start winning is what drives him right now. Hopefully, Phoenix will become a better team next season.
