Team USA center Myles Turner is looking forward to going up against France's Rudy Gobert.

USA Basketball will face France next in the knockout round of the FIBA World Cup in China. Gobert has won the last two Defensive Player of the Year awards in the NBA, something Turner clearly isn't pleased about.

“Gobert is a good defensive player, I’m a good defensive player, so it’s going to be a good game,” Turner said, via Joe Vardon of The Athletic. “He’s the defensive player of the year, according to some.”

Myles Turner led the NBA in blocks per game (2.7) and total blocks (199) last season. The Indiana Pacers big man thought he should have won the 2018-19 Defensive Player of the Year award instead of Rudy Gobert.

Turner will get his chance to outplay Gobert while leading Team USA to a victory. However, it won't be easy against a France squad that has Gobert, Evan Fournier, Nicholas Batum and Frank Ntilikina on it.

Besides Turner, Gobert will also be wary of American guard Donovan Mitchell. Gobert and Mitchell are teammates on the Utah Jazz, so it is expected that they will try to beat each other badly when they meet for their elimination game.
