Earlier today, Team Vitality proved that last week's 0 – 3 score line was just a blip in the radar with their win against Team BDS. The Team Vitality squad can only be described as underperforming in the first week of the League of Legends European Championship, or LEC. They finally seem to have activated with their first win this season.

None of the names in the Team Vitality roster are to scoff at. Team Vitality acquired top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris and mid laner Luka “Perkz” Perković as they return from the LCS. Perkz, often dubbed as the Western GOAT, and his team were seemingly struggling to find their identity as a roster. Vitality did have five skilled players, but were not performing as a unit.

Vitality jungler Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek dubbed it the “Vitality curse.” He mentioned that the team was doing well in scrims, but it seemed that they can't win stage games. It's not like the teams they went up in the first week are all top tier, either. Yes, one of them were Fnatic who now tops the leaderboard being undefeated, but the other teams were Excel and MAD Lions.

0-3 was not a good look for the squad. Nobody quite expected this roster to have the scoreline, and Team Vitality soon turn it around. In the match against Team BDS, the Team Vitality squad played like a team, and proceeded to run over their enemies. Selfmade earned MVP from his performance as Olaf, which mostly involved running into the enemy team and miraculously not dying.

AD Carry Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság and support Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis also constantly skill-checked the enemy in lane, and at one point even 100-0'd BDS AD Carry Matthew Charles “xMatty” Coombs. After this game, both Team BDS and Team Vitality sit at 1-3, tied for sixth on the leaderboard with two other teams.

Perkz mentioned in the post-game interview that this was Team Vitality's first time playing in the same room, due to health concerns. According to him, the fact that the squad can finally see each other played a huge part in their improved performance. Vitality wants to ride this momentum after the win, and look to face G2 Esports tomorrow.
