According to an official statement released by the team on Tuesday evening, the Houston Texans have already found the team's next general manager. The Texans have announced that the lowly franchise has managed to land New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio as the team's new general manager.

After the Patriots blocked such a move last offseason, it appears as though the Texans refused to quit in the end as Houston has persisted enough to ultimately land Caserio's services.

Although longtime Patriots head coach and future Pro Football Hall of Famer Bill Belichick has been pulling the strings in New England for the last two decades, Caserio has been a key cog when it comes to the team’s continued success — even if it was more behind the scenes.

Being a part of six Super Bowl teams as a member of the Patriots’ front office, Caserio has remained alongside Belichick as New England made major personnel decisions over the years. Now, Caserio will finally receive the opportunity to branch out en route to being at the forefront of the Texans' front office decisions.

Of course, the Texans infamously fired former head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien earlier in the 2020-21 campaign.

The Texans wound up finishing the 2020-21 regular season with a disappointing 4-12 record under the direction of interim head coach Romeo Crennel. Thanks to the one-win Jacksonville Jaguars, though, the Texans did not finish last in the AFC South division despite encountering quite the tumultuous season this time around.
