The NFL trade deadline is right around the corner and teams are desperate to acquire talent to improve their roster. Among the craziest rumors, teams have actually inquired about a deal involving Houston Texans' DeAndre Hopkins per Jay Glazer.

Don't worry Texans fans, the team isn't parting ways with Hopkins any time soon. Glazer was just stating that teams have in fact called them to see what it would take to acquire the All-Pro wide receiver. Obviously, it would take a large package to lure Hopkins from Houston right now.

The Texans are in contention to win the AFC South and definitely have their sights set on making the playoffs. Therefore, it would make little to no sense for them to rid of their best pass-catcher.

Additionally, Hopkins is only in the third year of the five-year, $81 million extension that he signed in 2017. Furthermore, the talented wideout is currently under contract through the 2022 season.

Prior to 2019, Hopkins has put together quite the resume since entering the NFL in 2013. Over his first six seasons, the Clemson product has had three seasons of at least 95 receptions, 1,300 yards, and 11 touchdowns.

As for this season, he's corraled 49 receptions for 508 yards and three touchdowns. At 27-years-old, Hopkins is the prime of his career and is a cornerstone for the Texans for years to come.

The Texans can afford to pay Hopkins a decent amount due to Deshaun Watson playing on his rookie deal.

A trade involving Hopkins won't happen anytime soon but it's fun to imagine what it would take to land him.
