Houston Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson, who is out for the season after tearing up his leg, decided to make a rather daring declaration about his inevitable return.

According to the electrifying youngster, timelines are fictional and he will be back next season, even if the odds are a bit murky in regard to that sort of optimism.

“There’s no timeline from ACLs,” Watson said Tuesday, via PFT. “People give you five, six, seven, eight months to come back. It’s just whenever we feel it’s right. But I know for sure I’ll be back next season.”

To be clear, Deshaun Watson didn't say the start of the season, but just at some point in it.

“For me not to be out there, it always burns me,” Watson said. “But at the same time, I kind of look at it in a positive way where I can sit back and see it as a fan and from a coach’s perspective.”

Watson recently tweeted his support for Bill O’Brien. If it was up to the former Clemson Tigers star, the franchise would be keeping him.

“Just being real and showing how I feel,” Watson said. “That saying, ‘If it’s not broke, why fix it.'”
