LeBron James and the Warner Animation Group rounded out the cast for the highly anticipated Space Jam: A New Legacy with a young actor portraying the Los Angeles Lakers champion's fictionalized son, played by high school standout Ceyair Wright, according to Bleacher Report.

However, Wright is also a top-five cornerback in his 2021 class, and has seen piles of scholarship offers from multiple schools, his latest coming from Langston University. A product of Loyola High School, Wright also engages in track and field, owning one of the top 100-meter time records in the state of California. To say the least, the senior has his hands full.

James had been rumored years back to be in the process of putting together the follow up flick to Space Jam, which would be starring LeBron James along with several other NBA stars including Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson and Anthony Davis. WNBA star Diana Taurasi is also set to appear on screen for the sequel as well. While a confirmed release date is set to be in the summer of 2021, the entire cast list hasn't been announced.

James and most of the stars of the league have likely finished filming or looking to wrap up soon with the announcement of an agreed upon December start date to the NBA season. With that, there leaves little time for the James-led cast to do any additional larger scenes before the expected July release date.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made sweeping delays to Hollywood, with the film industry expecting more releases in the future. We'll soon see how the Space Jam follow-up is impacted.
