Phoenix Suns forward Jared Dudley wanted no excuses for the poor officiating that's taken place this season, outraged at the referee's technical foul called on Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau in Friday night's loss to the Chicago Bulls.

Thibodeau was called for a technical foul for yelling at his own player, Karl-Anthony Towns for being late in his rotation, yet received a tech for his troubles, to his dismay.

“I been saying this for awhile but these techs are getting out of hand!! Come on now!!,” the Suns veteran said on his Twitter account. “

A Twitter user countered that Thibodeau had been yelling at the refs all game long and that they probably thought it was intended at them after four quarters of hardcore pacing in the sidelines. Dudley wasn't buying it.

“I don’t want to hear that excuse! Players been barking at refs since the NBA started,” he tweeted. “Why is it in the playoffs Techs go down significantly?! In the 4th quarter you can’t give out bad techs! [Can't] change the game.”

“I agree I’m not calling out one instance, I’m simply saying in the 4th unless it egregious we don’t want to see techs. Refs do a great job with in the playoffs cuz every game is nationally televised and don’t want to be the topic of convo.”

Officials have been getting out of hand with their technical fouls, becoming more of a go-to self-defense mechanism than an actual way to punish a player/coach for an act of aggression.

As an 11-year veteran of the league, Dudley has had enough of this new wave of handing out techs like candy on Halloween.
