Despite making big-time acquisitions with the trade for Jimmy Butler and multiple other signings, Minnesota Timberwolves president and head coach Tom Thibodeau isn't done making moves this offseason.

Having signed the likes of Jeff Teague, glass-cleaner Taj Gibson, and three-time Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford, the Wolves have put themselves in a good position to compete, yet they still have four roster spots to fill.

In a radio interview with Chad Hartman on WCCO-830 AM on Monday, Thibodeau said something “absolutely” should happen within the next couple of weeks, according to Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press. Having spent top-dollar on their free agents earlier this offseason, Minnesota only has minimum salaries to offer, making this a more painful process than others.

“We think we’re going to have a shot at some really good players, but we have to be patient,” said Thibodeau.

Among them could be microwave Shabazz Muhammad, who has been known to fill it up in a hurry off the Timberwolves' bench during his first four seasons with the team. The lefty go-to scorer even received a pledge from Crawford to come back to the team, which could present a two-headed monster off the bench.

“He’s one of the players we are talking to,” Thibodeau told Dan Barreiro on KFXN-100.3 on Monday. “Bazz has a great relationship with a number of players on the team. I know they would like to have him back. He’s got to make a decision shortly.”

When asked about the remaining spots, the man at the helm insisted he's looking for players that can get it done at both ends — specifically the three-and-D mold that has become so popular in the NBA during the last few years.

“What we’re looking for in our league (is) three and D,” Thibodeau said. “A guy that can shoot the three, complement our primary scorers and defensively be able to guard their position well. And you’re looking for versatility.”

If the Wolves can surround themselves with players that can trot out the defensive effort Thibs will require of them and provide support to a star-studded starting lineup, it's only likely Minnesota will be on the rise and aiming for a playoff seed to start the season.
