New Minnesota Timberwolf Jamal Crawford has been trying to recruit free agent guard/forward Shabazz Muhammad to stay with the team over Twitter, asking him to come back home.

Crawford was signed to be an upgraded version of Muhammad, a veteran scorer with an innate tea-kettle-like ability to get hot from the perimeter and light it up off the bench.

The request surprised Muhammad, who has likely been surveying his options during this long offseason.

The lefty shot-happy scorer off the bench boasts a very similar game and role than Crawford, making the request rather odd due to the task of sharing shots coming off the Minnesota bench.

Muhammad, a UCLA alum, has been working out near his hometown, honing his one-on-one game even more, aiming for a spot in an NBA roster.

While the combination between Crawford (10.6 shot attempts last season with L.A. Clippers) and Muhammad (7.7 shot attempts last season) would be an unlikely one, it would surely be a sight to see if the two flamethrowers can catch fire at the same time.

The three-time Sixth Man of the Year averaged 12.3 points per game last season while Muhammad was a whisker shy of 10 points per game during his fourth season with the Timberwolves.
