Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry didn't offer excuses after they lost to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Saying they lost could be putting it mildly; the final score was 38-13. When the clock finally struck zero, it felt like a massive relief from a torture chamber for the lethargic Titans.

Henry, the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, didn't mince his words when asked about his thoughts on the embarrassing defeat to Kyler Murray and the rest of the Cardinals after the game (via Titans reporter Jim Wyatt).

The 27-year-old Henry also said the real Titans didn't show up against the Cardinals, who built a huge 24-6 advantage at the half.

The Titans, who had one of the NFL's most lethal offenses last season, couldn't find the end zone often against the charged-up defense of the Cardinals. Henry, who finished with 2,027 yards last campaign, had 58 yards but hardly made a real impact in the lopsided game.

There was speculation in the offseason that the Titans didn't have ample time to prepare together, particularly Henry and the rest of the squad's offensive starters, due to pandemic complications. Against the Cardinals, their defense was almost nonexistent as well. Murray finished 21-32 for 289 yards and four touchdowns. According to ESPN, he became just the sixth player in NFL history to have four TD passes and a rushing TD in a season opener and the first since Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2018.

Derrick Henry and the rest of the Titans can redeem themselves next Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, who beat the Indianapolis Colts, 28-16, in their season opener.
