Heading into the season finale matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, there are some questions that the Tennessee Titans face concerning quarterback Marcus Mariota's status for the contest.

Mariota has been working his way through an elbow injury that occurred during last Saturday's 25-16 win over the Washington Redskins. He has been able to practice on a limited basis over the last two days, but head coach Mike Vrabel has remained cautious about stating that the 25-year-old will be under center for Sunday's game, according to Travis Haney of The Athletic.

Although Vrabel has continued to tread lightly with the situation, the fact that Mariota has been able to get some limited practice over the last two days does shows that he is making progress. However, the question becomes about whether he has made enough progress to get back into the fold in time for the game.

The Titans would like to roll with Mariota under center, but having him out there at less than 100 percent could be a detriment to the team's offense that could possibly perform more efficiently under the direction of a healthy Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert may be limited in what he can do on the field, but it does provide stability at the position in place of Mariota while the team may be able to lean more heavily on the running game led by Derrick Henry.

Ultimately, Mariota's status for the contest should get some much-needed clarity in the next couple of days ahead of the all-or-nothing season finale game with a trip to the playoffs on the line.
