Although the Tennessee Titans may have high hopes for the 2019 NFL season, it appears they may have to deal with some early injuries to start Training Camp.

All players are set to report to camp on Thursday. According to Jim Wyatt of the team's official website, defensive lineman Jurrell Casey, tight end Jonnu Smith and kicker Ryan Succop will begin on the physically unable to perform list to start:

The Titans are set to open training camp with three players on the team’s Physically Unable to Perform list – defensive lineman Jurrell Casey, tight end Jonnu Smith and kicker Ryan Succop.

This is certainly not an ideal way to start camp for Tennessee. Regardless, it is clear that they are opting to take a cautious approach with their key players with the hope that they will be 100 percent by the time the 2019 campaign rolls around.

Of course, the most notable absence is that of Casey. He has long established himself as one of the NFL's premier interior defensive lineman while serving as the anchor of the Titans' defense.

He is coming off a stellar 2018 campaign in which he registered 62 tackles, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles, however, he spent most of the offseason nursing a knee injury he suffered late in the year.

Smith is also recovering from a knee injury he suffered last season. He is hoping to build on a year in which he was able to enjoy some modest production.

Meanwhile, Succops absence will leave a notable void on special teams to start camp.

The veteran will need to make his return before Tennessee starts to grow comfortable with the replacements they bring in to keep things moving.
