The newest member of the Sacramento KingsTy Lawson, has made claims that he's been the victim of extortion through cyber hacking.

Lawson’s attorney, Martin Kaufman told TMZ this weekend that the hackers had obtained “very sensitive and private material” from his computer and are on the process of finding media outlets interested in paying for the material.

The culprits have somehow found a way to get in touch with the 5-foot-11 point guard, as Kaufman said they have threatened to go public with the information if they are not paid off.

Lawson contacted local authorities and his case is currently under investigation.

Kaufman would not say what information had been compromised or the nature of it.

This is one of the many cases of technology gone wrong, as most athletes are connected through many ways of social media and sometimes share pretty sensitive information without a care in the world — the type of stuff hackers make a living out of.

Ty Lawson had dealt with numerous DUI cases and as of recent years performance issues on the court. Surely whatever is in these hackers hands can possibly become the straw that broke the camel's back as far as his NBA career is concerned.
