The New Orleans Pelicans are starting to get their groove back with seven wins in their last 11 games, and on Friday, things will get even better for them.

After missing the start of the season, their shooting guard and former Rookie of the Year, Tyreke Evans, is expected to make his return when they host the L.A. Clippers that night.

The 27-year-old Memphis product has been recovering from surgery done on his right knee after injuring it back in February which forced him to miss the remainder of the season.

Evans' return will give the Pelicans another option in their guard rotation which has been one of the areas where they have struggled getting production from. He has proven over his career that he can score, especially with his penetrations, and also has the ability to create shots for his teammates.

The former fourth-overall pick of the 2009 draft owns impressive career averages of 16.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. When healthy, he can be one of the better shooting guards in the league and will be a good compliment to the team's superstar forward, Anthony Davis.

Concerns about preserving his health will always be in question, but should Evans be successful in preventing an injury, he might just be the missing piece to the Pelicans' quest to turn around their season and still compete for a playoff spot as the year progresses.
